ABSTRACT

Contact lenses are a frequent cause of ocular infection and are responsible for severe loss of vision by causing corneal ulceration. We report a case of cross contamination by lens solutions in two sisters, using the same disinfecting and rinsing solutions. Ophthalmologists should be cautious of contamination with rare and resistant organism in contact lens wearing patients, especially those who are exposed to multiple organisms in a hospital setting. We recommend careful culture of the ocular surface, contact lenses and solutions to isolate the causative organism, and to initiate proper antibiotic treatment
